Kansa/Bronze
- Cleaning: Wash kansa utensils with little warm water and use mild soap or wood ash (as a option) after the use. Use soft cleanser or scrubber to clean the surface of the product.
- Drying: After washing, dry kansa utensils soon as possible with a soft cloth to prevent water spots or stains.
- Avoid acidic foods: Kansa can react with acidic foods, leading to discoloration and a metallic taste. Avoid using kansa utensils for cooking or storing acidic foods like citrus fruits, tomatoes, or vinegar-based dishes.
- Storage: Store kansa utensils in a dry place and if possible in cool place, away from direct sunlight to prevent oxidation and tarnishing.
- Polishing: Over time, kansa utensils may develop a natural patina. To keep it shiny and appearance, you can polish them with Pitambari Powder for the best practices and also you can clean with mixture of lemon juice and salt, or a commercial metal polish specifically designed for bronze or brass.
- Avoid extreme temperature changes: Kansa can expand and contract with temperature changes, so avoid subjecting utensils to sudden temperature shifts, such as placing them directly from the stove into cold water.
- Handwashing: Wash copper items by hand using a little warm water and a mild dish soap. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scrubbers that can scratch the surface.

The transition to the early Vedic period with texts like Rig Veda Samhita gives us an idea about the usage of metals during that time.
